Bandanaira is purely a duo, they often got the reinforcement from shining lineup of artists. Aku Indonesia" involved great lineup of supporting artists including Doni Sundjoyo (contrabass), Syarif Wiradz (percussions),Michelle Siswanto (violin), Indra Lesmana (mixing and mastering) and last but not least Riza Arshad in the position of Sound Engineer. Having such a powerful supporting artists like them ensures Bandanaira to present nothing but the best for this new album.
Bandanaira consists of two highly talented girls, Lea Simanjuntak and Irsa Destiwi. Lea Angeline Simanjuntak is a gifted singer with a wide vocal range and strong character that has successfully bridged her career over two different music segments. She's famous as the praise/worship or gospel singer, and now she's doing great in the secular world. Lea is not only a singer but also a smart song writer/composer and an entertainer as well. All through her career she has collaborated with many other giants from various music sides such as Riza Arshad,Tohpati and Jikustik just to name a very few.
Irsa Destiwi coming from classical background, she has established herself as a brilliant jazz pianist. Look at how successful she is right now with her group, Shadow Puppets Quartetwhich recently has also launched their second album, Strings Attached: Live at Birdcage. She won YPM Award for The Most Outstanding Performance for Pianist and Theory; she was the third winner of Jazzeed Djamin Award in music rearrangement of Ismail Marzuki and so on. One of her big breakthrough was when she was involved in the second installment of Bali Lounge where she worked together with multi-national musicians, including Malaysian drum maestro Lewis Pragasam, Chris Wright (Australia) and two Indonesian fellows, Harry Toledo and Iwan Abdie.
This group established in March 2009 took the name of a very beautiful island in Maluku for their name.
