About This Act :

Three people with roots in Indonesia, Richard Pattiselanno (compositions and arrangements - guitar) Nancy van Hek (lyrics - lead vocal) & Rick van Hek (compositions and arrangements - piano/synth) Performed both with Rob Madna, Jerry van Rooijen, Dutch Jazz Orchestra, Bob Graham, Ferdinand Povel, Luluk Purwanto and many others. Band: Franklin Caesar Breeveld (tenor sax / flute), Michael Simon (trumpet / flugelhorn) Taco Gorter (drums), Taco Nieuwenhuizen (bass), t.b.a. (backing vocals). The TRIBA-sound lies somewhere between jazz, fusion or latin, it\\\'s a combination of all, not a dilution - a funky groovy style that is at once easy listening and sophisticated. Most of the songs are original compositions by Richard Pattiselanno with lyrics by Nancy van Hek, but there are also some covers with fantastic new arrangements that will surprise you. This group became, described by the late well- known jazz musician Rob Madna, \\\'one happy family eager to make groovy music ́. TRIBA is performing in a relaxed and professional way - that\\\'s TRIBA. To know what it\\\'s all about you\\\'ll have to see Triba live on stage. On their first CD \\\"LIVING IN A WORLD\\\" Triba joined hands with 22 musicians from several countries (Indonesia, Uruguay, U.S.A., France, Australia, Venezuela, Surinam, Sweden, Belgium, Brazil, New Zealand and The Netherlands). The title-song on the CD (Living in a world) tells us to join hands all over the world to invest in a new future for the next generation DVD+CD TRIBA LIVE IN A JAZZ TRADITION, with special guests (a.o. Karel Boehlee, Luluk Purwanto, Enrique Firpi, Wiboud Burkens, the late Paulo Prata) New compositions, ready to be recorded, will be performed on the Java Jazz Festival 2012
