Pianist/keyboardist Bobby Lyle's first gig occurred when he was 16. It was in the 60's and he collaborated with Gene and Jerry Hubbard in the Bobby Lyle Trio. He then became a keyboard player for Young Holt Unlimited. In 1976, Lyle was recruited by Sly and the Family Stone. Afterwards, Bobby Lyle worked with Al Jarreau for couple of years and conducted for Anita Baker. He has also worked with George Benson, Bette Middler and Gerald Albright. Lyle claims that his early influences include Oscar Peterson, Ahmad Jamal, Bill Evans, Erroll Garner and Art Tatum. So far, Bobby Lyle has released 15 albums, the latest titled "Hands On" (2006). Some of his hit songs are "Joyful", "Hands On" and "Body and Soul".
